DELVE INTO THE CREATIVE WORLD OF JEWELLERY MAKING

20211121_164500.jpg

Make your own heirloom piece of jewellery with Master jeweler, Nadine Treister.

In this intimate Masterclass located in the heart of Brunswick, you will design and create a simple ring or pendant through learning the ancient technique of lost-wax casting. The session is guided, with multiple demonstrations throughout. The aim for the class will be to help you bring your designs to life. As a university lecturer, Nadine has exceptional communication and teaching skills, catering to your individual needs.

This workshop will run for approximately four hours.

You will learn and test out various wax carving techniques: creating form and texture through building up, carving, sawing, filing, piercing, and sizing your ring/pendant. Your piece will then be taken off-site and cast into sterling silver (or your desired metal), and returned to you, polished and ready to wear.

This workshop will also set you up with the skills to continue this process of making at home

Cost includes access to basic materials, tools and your own sterling silver ring/pendant (choose from a variety of popular base designs). Please note, complex and bulky designs may incur an extra fee if your piece is more than 15 grams in weight.

You will have an option to choose your desired metal on the day, aside from silver (which is included in the price of the workshop). Additional costs will be quoted for 9k gold, 18k gold, and platinum. These prices are calculated on an individual basis and can be discussed with me once you have enrolled.

Nadine is an avid collector of gemstones, a selection of which will be available for you to purchase and include in your design on the day. or you can choose to bring your own.

If you wish to use your own gemstone/s to incorporate into your design, it is vital that you please let Nadine know upon enrollment so she can discuss possible design options that will be suited to the cut and size of your gemstone/s. Please note, there will be an additional setting fee for including any gemstones.

I cannot speak highly enough about the Keepsake Workshop!

Regardless of individual “skill” level Nadine made everyone in the class feel comfortable, at ease and equipped each of us with the tools to create stunning, take home pieces.

Nadine’s creative professionalism, her warm and engaging nature and being able to walk away with a hand crafted, personalised piece of jewellery made this workshop a truly memorable experience!

The Keepsake Jewellery workshop is the best thing I did this year! I have always loved Nadine’s work and went into the workshop with no experience - just a hope to wake up some creativity. I had a simple design in mind and my fingers crossed that my piece would look ok.

Nadine was authentic, warm, encouraging and full of knowledge. Her ability to give everyone in the workshop 1 on 1 direction for their pieces was incredible and I loved watching the groups individual pieces come to life. She has incredible expertise and design knowledge and I learnt so much from Nadine about technique and the process of jewellery making. I felt empowered, supported and very capable and loved the intimacy of working within a small group on something so, so special.

I now have a beautiful, heirloom piece made by me for me that is beyond anything I could have ever imagined. I am itching for the next workshop I do with Nadine. I cannot thank her enough but I know I will be seeing her soon.

I loved this workshop. Nadine is a wonderful teacher – attentive, knowledgeable and easy-going.  Everything was so thoughtfully organised, all the tools and materials (and cookies!) arranged and ready to use, and plenty of time to experiment and play while the ideas come together.

I met some lovely people, learnt a lot about lost wax casting, and best of all I emerged at the end with a etched gold wedding band for my partner, designed and made by me! I never would have thought I could make something so beautiful (if I do say so myself!).

I can’t recommend these classes enough, and have already signed myself and my bestie up for round 2!
